COVID-19 is forcing the whole world to learn to live with vulnerability. Many of us are realising that it is not as easy as we would like to believe. The difficulty is that vulnerability requires deeper self-knowledge. The situation we are faced with is giving us no other choice but to go inward. The ‘inward journey’ has been pushed upon us and it is only a matter of time before we need to make the choice to engage with it or not.
We have more time to think deeply about ourselves and acquire the self-knowledge needed to build a life which is personally and professionally balanced and harmonious.
The Authentic Life™ Training discussed in the article titled ‘Are you accepting vulnerability as part of your life now? Or are you still resisting?’ is about the conflict between profit and human development. The program consists of nine topics to be presented to your company, for participants who are willing to embrace the self-knowledge journey.
Mental Health is a huge subject globally, now more than ever. However, fear and anxiety have always been present and can largely affect career and job performance – which many people can relate to.
We’ve all been told to leave our feelings at home and come into work like a machine. Now, for most of us there is no difference between the workplace and home. The reality is that life is full of losses - of a job, of friendship, of a title, and of a life we used to live in January 2020. Dismissive comments such as ‘get over it’ or ‘move on’, do not suffice. The famous saying ‘fake it until you make it’ also won’t work. Many people will feel the pain of this new life and the best way to deal with pain is by processing it. This is called grieving. COVID-19 is pushing people towards the grieve which is hard work, and when done properly self-knowledge is increased.
It is hard to imagine a life without the capitalism system. There are four myths about the capitalism system, and the most common is that it’s the only way of life. This is a myth as the aboriginal society has already lived for a long time without electricity, credit cards and education. The capitalism system is not the only system there is. Realising that there are ways of life other than the capitalism system is necessary for human development in business and personally. Needless to say, COVID-19 has caused the capitalism system to fall apart.

COVID-19 is bruising our egos as we are facing the five hard truths about life:
1. Life is hard;
2. You are not that important;
3. You are not in control;
4. Life is not about you;
and 5. You are going to die.
If you take these truths and think about them for a while, you will notice just how confronting they are. Now – more than ever – is a time when these issues need to be talked about and processed at a deeper level.
This is about the first relationships with humans in our lives - our mothers and fathers. In many cases, our relationship and level of appreciation of these two people shapes our personalities. Talking about our parents in an open, vulnerable and safe space - including in the workplace - is vital. These discussions have the power to prevent homelessness, domestic violence, and suicide when conducted properly.
8. Authenticity:
‘Power’ is a word that is not well perceived as it is often misused and associated with bullying, both at work and in personal life. However, when using the word correctly and from the right place - the true self - it has the potential to bring transformation to life. We all have our own power - just like superheroes! Can you imagine everyone at your workplace being able to use the word properly? It would make the workplace a much more pleasant place.
6. Male & Female Energy:
Our understanding of male and female energy is essential for us to work together and appreciate each other’s potential. Men and women have different powers, as well as different ways of dealing with life and business challenges.
7. Sexuality & Eroticism:
Our understanding of sexual or erotic energy in the workplace is vitally important in preventing harassment. Unfortunately, this topic is often misunderstood. The lack of understanding has caused many divorces, suicides, homelessness and sexual deviations. It is of utmost importance that a mature, healthy and safe conversation be held around this topic to improve life at the workplace and at home.
.
9. Gift of Storytelling:
The more you acquire self-knowledge, the more you will learn to tell the sacred story of your heart. A strong and authentic team will understand not only the story of each participant but also the story of the group. Once this is achieved, there will be no ‘virus’ with the power to change your deeper personality, and you will be forever ‘vaccinated’!
Is your working team, friends or neighbourhood ready?
These topics are meant to be presented as a conversation starter, not a lecture format where questions are asked, and answers are expected. The goal is to generate an engaging and productive conversation where you will be vulnerable about your life, and challenges personally and in business. In the long term, the program has the potential to transport you to a more authentic and healthier life.
The Authentic Life™ Training is for those who want to use this crisis productively and get the best out of it. You will build resilience in business and personally, to create a life free of stigma and discrimination. The program can also lead to vitality and authenticity and members of the group will grow in connection, collaboration, consciousness, and wellbeing. The program helps to create a society free from suicide, domestic violence, and homelessness. Half of all proceeds are directed to the Counselling Men Project which delivers free registered counselling sessions for men at risk of domestic violence, suicide, and homelessness.
